The Survival Trap

Stop the Circles.

How I turned off survival mode so I could finally lead.

For years, I felt like I was going in circles. I was always on edge. I thought it was just anxiety. I thought it was just who I was.

My life was so busy that I never stopped to ask why. I was always in survival mode. When you are focused on just making it to tomorrow, you don’t notice that your body is screaming.

The ADHD Loop My ADHD brain loves to do “too much.” I would fill my day with tasks to hide the noise in my head. I was around the wrong people. I was in the wrong places. My nervous system was always on “High Alert.”

The Realization I finally realized I wasn’t “anxious.” I was overloaded.

I started paying attention to the patterns:

  • The People: Some people made my heart race. I stopped being around them.
  • The Pace: I stopped doing “everything” and started doing what mattered.
  • The Quiet: I learned that a calm brain is a powerful brain.

The Fix Once I saw the pattern, I could fix it. I started taking small steps to quiet the noise. I organized my space. I filtered my circle. I stopped running.

You cannot find your purpose and build your dreams if your brain thinks it is being hunted. To be Posh, you have to be Calm.

3 Daily Habits for the Calm Outlaw

If you want to move from “Survival” to “Strategy,” start doing these three things every day:

  1. The Color-Coded Win: Pick the one most important thing you need to do today. Highlight it in a bright color on your list. This helps your AuDHD brain focus on the “Signal” and ignore the “Noise.”
  2. The Sound Filter: Use classical or meditation music. Your nervous system needs a break from the “vibration” of the world to stay in control.
  3. The Energy Audit: Before you say “yes” to someone, ask: “Does this person help my peace or create more chaos?” If they create chaos, the answer is “No.” Protect your energy like it is money in the bank.
